Fourth of July

For the Fourth of July they had a parade of all the squadrons.

Dinner Night

Some of the PERSCO group went out to a local place for dinner that was on a 'lake'. These are pictures from the restaurant, as well as pictures on the way there.

Starvin' Marvin

Starvin' Marvin it their 'adopted' dog on base. There are several 'wild' dogs that roam around, but he is the smallest, so Travis, of course, feels bad for him. The other dogs don't let him eat the scraps, so they have taken him in.... as best as they can. They try to coax him in to the tent, but he only goes as far as the door. I told him no matter what, HE CANNOT BRING HIM HOME!!!

Squadron Feud!!!

They do a game like family feud every couple weeks. I guess PERSCO hasn't had the best record, but this group had raised the standard. Travis said the days before the competition, everyone came in talking trash, and then THEY WON.... I guess they mailed this picture out to everyone, with a simple subject....
"P is for PERSCO"

General North

Ok, so I'm a horrible American! When Travis told me General North came to visit their base, and their office, I knew it was someone really important, (I've herd his name a lot o the news...) but didn't quite know what he did, so, here is his bio!

Travis got to meet him, shake his hand, and even got 'coined' He is racking up quite a collection from being over there!

Lt. Gen. Gary L. North is Commander, 9th Air Force and U.S. Air Forces Central, Shaw Air Force Base, S.C. The command comprises five wings in the eastern United States and three direct reporting units, with more than 350 aircraft and 24,000 active-duty and civilian personnel. He is also responsible for the operational readiness of 18 9th Air Force-gained National Guard and Air Force Reserve units comprising the Air Reserve Component. As the Air Component Commander for U.S. Central Command, the general is responsible for developing contingency plans and conducting air operations in a 27-nation area of responsibility covering Central and Southwest Asia and the Horn of Africa.

Polish Major

You always here about 'coalition forces' that are in the area along with the US troops. Here is a picture of a Polish Major. The PERSCO team would do their briefing, and then he would translate it to his troops. Travis said he was a pretty cool guy.

Ok, Trav put a guilt trip on me

Ok, so Travis made me feel really guilty, so a TON of pictures are going up... I don't know/remember what all of them are, but I'll write what ever descriptions I know.

This is him at his desk

They have "gangster mice" that come out right in front of them and eat the cheese/peanut butter off of the trap.

This is their 'group' in front of the Tent that they work out of. The big dome on the left is where they do their big briefings.

This is the group with "Napoleon Dynomite" added to the mix (Greg's handy work)

This is sunrise over their base.
